The suit against Gabriel, Roeder, Smith, a top actuarial consultant for public pensions, contends that it used faulty methods and assumptions that “doomed the plan to financial ruin.” The litigation may have implications beyond southeastern Michigan because of the firm’s status and influence in the world of public pensions.
