Lloyds Banking First-Half Profit Down Sharply On Legacy Charges by CHAD BRAY

The British bank said that profit fell by 63 percent to £574 million, or about $971.7 million, and that it took charges of £1.1 billion in the second quarter related to a series of regulatory issues.
